Smash Cake Magazine is a print magazine published twice yearly, in the spring and fall. Our first issue is scheduled to drop Fall 2010, and pre-orders are available by clicking the “Purchase” link at the top of the page.
We seek writing and artwork which moves our readers to absolute emotion. We subscribe to the idea that life is temporary and worth riding hard. We like tender pieces, stories full of rage, hilarious poems, deeper-than-they-look slices of life, and dark art. We’re a little twisted. We just want to feel.
Smash Cake is the brainchild of Tracy Lucas, who has served in varying publishing roles from $20-a-week freelancer to owner of editing and design firm, Four Square Creative, our parent company. She has also been a children’s magazine editor, journalist, professional photographer, columnist, blogger, book editor, poet, publicist, and Jezzball addict.
Tracy lives with her husband, three kids, and annoying cat near Nashville, Tennessee, and blogs and writes in various places. Her tastes and interests are very eclectic, and change on a whim. This is the one place she gets to watch the words come rolling in, instead of rolling out.
